How do I know that PharmacyDirectGB is legal and legitimate?

PharmacyDirectGB is part of the MEJ Hingley group of chemists, which was formed in 1964. The Company is a family run concern, with 11 local pharmacies operating in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

MEJ Hingley is authorised by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to sell medicines online through our website PharmacyDirectGB. To verify that we are registered to sell medicines online, click on the logo below.

How do I know that the medicine you provide is genuine?

PharmacyDirectGB is part of the MEJ Hingley group of chemists, which was formed in 1964. We are a fully registered UK pharmacy with a number of local chemist shops operating in Birmingham and the West Midlands. We use the same pharmaceutical suppliers and medicines for our internet customers as we use for our chemist shops. All our medicines are 100% genuine and are sourced in the UK. You can check our credentials with the General Pharmaceutical Council and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

Do I need a prescription for certain medicines?

You will need a prescription if you are ordering any prescription only medicine (POM). PharmacyDirectGB offer an online consultation service with a GMC and EU registered doctor who can supply a prescription depending on the outcome of the consultation. You do not need a prescription to buy other 'over the counter' medicines from our online shop.

How does the online consultation work?

Before we can issue a prescription you need to complete an online consultation with our GMC registered doctor. The consultation is in the form of an online questionnaire with questions specific to your condition. You must complete this questionnaire before a prescription can be issued. Please note that all prescriptions issued can only be used through our pharmacy.

How much is an online prescription?

The cost of a private prescription is £24. The doctor will review your consultation responses. If the doctor is satisfied that the requested medication is suitable and safe for you to take, they will issue a prescription. If the doctor is not willing to prescribe the medication, you will be refunded in full.

Can I use an existing prescription?

Yes. If you already have a valid prescription you can use it to order your medication online. Please select the option 'I have a valid private prescription' when purchasing your medication. Next, write your order number on the top of the prescription and post it to us at the address below. As soon as we receive your prescription we'll dispatch your order. Please note: you must send us the original prescription. Copies are not valid.

What payment options do you offer?

You can pay online using the following credit or debit cards: Visa & Mastercard. All orders are processed securely using Sage Pay.

If you don't wish to pay online, please call us on: 0845 602 9355 and we can process your order by telephone.

Are there any delivery costs?

Postage and packing is FREE for all UK orders of £40 and over. This applies to standard delivery only. For all orders under £40, a UK Standard Delivery charge of £2.95 will be added. A Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day option costing £5.90 is also available.

Overseas orders will be sent by Royal Mail Tracked & Signed, or the most appropriate method if this is not available. The postage and packing fee for overseas deliveries will vary by country.

When will I receive my order?

Once your prescription has been approved by the online doctor or received at our pharmacy, your order will be dispatched at the earliest opportunity. All standard delivery orders are sent by Royal Mail Tracked 48 and require a signature. Delivery normally takes 1-2 working days. A Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day option is also available. Can I have my order sent to a different address?

Yes. You can add an alternative delivery address during the ordering process.

Do you deliver overseas?

Yes. We can deliver to many other countries however, it is up to the customer to confirm that the products ordered are allowed in the destination country. We cannot be held responsible should your order be seized by Customs.

What happens if my order doesn't arrive?

Can I cancel my order?

Orders can only be cancelled if they have not yet been despatched. Please contact us immediately by email: info@pharmacydirectgb.co.uk or telephone: 0845 602 9355 if you wish to cancel your order.

Can I return my order?

You are not allowed to return medicines and cosmetics for safety and hygiene reasons. Unfortunately, once despatched your order cannot be returned.

Do I need to tell my doctor if I order from PharmacyDirectGB?

We highly recommend that you inform your doctor about any medication you are taking. However, this is completely optional and we will never inform your GP without your consent.
