Yasmin is a contraceptive pill which works by stopping eggs being released for fertilisation, thickening the fluid present in the neck of the womb which makes it more difficult for sperm to enter the womb and preventing the lining of the womb becoming thick enough for a fertilised egg to become embedded in it.
