Good news for men with erectile dysfunction
Drug manufacturer Pfizer will face tough competition from other drug makers following the expiry of their UK patent for Viagra. From June 21st 2013 other pharmaceutical companies will be able to manufacture the drug in the UK under its generic name Sildenafil Citrate.
The good news for consumers is that a generic version of Viagra will soon be available at much lower prices.
Early reports suggest that as many as 20 manufacturers plan to produce generic Sildenafil in the next few months, with prices likely to drop significantly.
However, with an explosion of new products on the market, consumers will need to be wary of unregulated and potentially dangerous counterfeits. Above all, it’s essential to make sure that any medication is sourced from a reputable supplier.
